It’s so very nice to meet you!

At her core, Kelsey is a coach. She loves learning about people, listening to their stories, and understanding what makes them "tick". She is driven to help every client achieve their personal goals and find a path in their career and life that aligns with their values and purpose. To her, there is nothing more energizing than supporting a client and watching them grow into the person and professional they truly want to be.

In addition to coaching, she works in the engineered wood products industry, where she is passionate about supporting women in engineering, architecture, manufacturing, and construction. In her current role as a Human Resource Business Partner, she works closely with the executive leadership team to identify and implement HR vision and strategic initiatives.

She is a life long learner, which is reflected in her broad educational background. She has a BA in Psychology from Willamette University and a BS in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. She is a licensed Professional Engineer, a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), a Marshall Goldsmith Certified Stakeholder Centered Coach, and a Certified Life, Career and Executive Coach. She is currently working on rigorous credentialing through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Coaching changed my life, and that’s what got me here today.

Life can be weird. We go forward, we go backwards. Sometimes we make a u-turn, find ourselves driving in the wrong direction, going through life on autopilot, and then asking ourselves, “how did I get here?”

Bottom line is this - We all need support to navigate the inevitable complexities of our lives and careers.

And when I say “we all”, that includes me.

In the early years of my career, I was grinding so hard, I had little time to stop and think about what I was doing, why I was doing it, and where I was going. Spoiler alert, I crashed and burned.

I partnered with a career coach, and the experience changed the trajectory of my career (and life). After it concluded, I quit my job to give myself the space to figure out what was next. I tried many different things, got paid for some of them, and had the time of my life.

While on this journey, I realized the importance of embracing the full spectrum of life experiences (get knocked down, learn some lessons, get back up, fight again). But when I made the decision to leave the job and company that left me feeling like a shell of my former self, I decided that no person needs to be stripped of their sense of self in order to advance in their career.

I knew I couldn’t prevent “life” from happening to others, but I knew that I could be present for them when it did.

This is why I created Kelsey West Coaching.

Whatever it is and wherever you are, I’m here for it.
